Coffee with Flavor and Aroma
Guatemala is known for producing some of the best coffee in the world. However, this coffee is only for exportation. In other words, most Guatemalan people do not have the luxury of having a cup of great coffee. Even when people have access to the best coffee, the quality is low because the equipment is old. For example, most people use a percolator to make coffee, instead of a drip coffee machine. Casa Xelajú has been buying organic coffee from a small farm located at the foothills of the Guatemalan highlands. This coffee is hand picked, peeled by hand, and hand dried. However, we have not been happy with the quality of the coffee. After several years we discovered that the main problem was with our percolators and other equipment. Our goal at Casa Xelajú is to provide the best of the best to our students. As a result of that, we purchased a commercial grade coffee maker, which includes a water filter and thermos to keep the coffee hot without burning it as well as a commercial coffee grinder. Please enjoy our coffee during your study experience with us. We hope that the aroma and taste of a good cup of coffee will inspire you to learn more Spanish. |
