Semana Santa (Holy Week) in Guatemala Tour

A unique opportunity to experience a Holy Week mix with Mayan religion, and taste comida casera of Semana Santa.

Day 1, arrival to Guatemala.
We will stay at Hotel Aeropuerto and dine there that evening.

Day 2, breakfast at the hotel restaurant. We arrive in Quetzaltenango at noon. Tour students will be checking in at hotel. Early in the afternoon, a tour to the city's historic, tourist and commercial sights is scheduled. At the end the tour, a lecture about Quetzaltenango will be given at our building.

Day 3, a day trip to the following towns:

Zunil, where we will visit a women's coop and San Simon, a Mayan Saint and Salcaja to tour the oldest church in Central America and Textile Factories.
In the afternoon, we will have a lecture about Semana Santa and Mayan religion in Quetzaltenango by a Mayan Priest.

Day 4, we will be participating in the Semana Santa processions and church's festivals all over the city.

Day 5, We leave for Panajachel where we will visit several towns around Lake Atitlan. We will stay in Panajachel.

Day6, leave Panajachel to visit the colorful indigenous market in Chichicastenango. In the afternoon will be leave for Antigua, Guatemala and will stay overnight.

Day 7, tour of the city to visit historical sights and churches. A lecture on Spanish colonialism will be held afterwards. The rest of the day is free time.

Day 8, we leave Antigua, Guatemala to go to the airport for flight back to your country.

Minimum 10 people, maximum 15 per group

Tour includes:

Private roundtrip transportation during the tour.
Boat to visit towns on Lake Atitlan.
Lectures fees and tickets to museums, churches and all other entrance fees.
Double Occupancy hotel. For those wishing to have private room, please contact us for extra charges.
2 meals a day. While in Quetzaltenango, tour members have the option of having comida casera (home cooked Guatemalan meal at a private home).
Health and evacuation insurance
It does not include: Tips and US$30.00 airport fee when leaving the country.
